FAQs

Who are the instructors?

SNUGS instructors are current university students from our partner campuses. Many of our volunteers have previous experience as swim instructors, lifeguards, competitive swimmers, and camp counselors. All of our volunteers participate in a training workshop about how to teach water safety and swim technique to children with disabilities.

Who is eligible to receive snugs lessons?

In order to be eligible, we require that the swimmer is

  • able to provide official documentation of an intellectual disability, cognitive delay, or other impairment which requires that they have adapted instruction
